FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Carlsbad, CA – September 22, 2004

Medallion Foundation – Anchorage, Alaska takes delivery of FLYIT Simulators state of the art Professional Helicopter Simulator

The Medallion Foundation, a not for profit aviation safety organization took delivery of FLYIT Simulators new Professional Helicopter Simulator in August. One of the first to fly the device was Mr. Nick Sabitini, FAA Associate Administrator for regulation and certification. Mr. Sabitini had not flown a helicopter in some 20 years but quickly revitalized his skills. He told members that it brought back fond memories of his helicopter flying days.  Mr. Sabitini was impressed with the fidelity of the FLYIT device. The simulator has uniquely enhanced visuals that allow pilots to fly specific Alaskan VFR routes that are high risk corridors throughout Alaska. This allows for training related to not only actual conditions that might be encountered but training in risk mitigation techniques and decision making.

The next notable to fly was Senior Senator Ted Stevens. Senator Stevens had not flown a helicopter in some 20 years but quickly revitalized his skills. He told members that it brought back fond memories of his helicopter flying days. Senator Stevens besides his Chairmanship of the appropriations committee is also the Chairman of the congressional Science and Transportation Committee. As a pilot and involved aviation statesman he has a vested aviation safety in not only Alaska, but throughout the United States as well.
